World Arthritis Day is observed on October 12 every year. The day is dedicated to raising awareness of issues affecting people with rheumatic and musculoskeletal diseases.
European League Against Rheumatism (EULAR) tries its best to promote the day and its importance.

Arthritis is the swelling and tenderness of one or more joints. The main symptoms of this are pain and stiffness in joints and which usually worsen with age.

There are a lot of myths revolving around Arthritis which might be not true. The age-old myth about arthritis is that only older adults get it. Not only that, but people also believe that once a person starts approaching old age, arthritis is inevitable. This is one of the most accepted and widespread myth, but it’s false.

World Arthritis Day was established in 1996 by Arthritis and Rheumatism International (ARI) to raise global awareness about all facets of the disorder. Every year, October 12 is celebrated as World Arthritis Day.

The World Arthritis Day has been following a theme and campaign since 2017 called, “Don’t Delay, Connect Today” campaign. It encourages people to extend a helping hand and try their best as soon as possible. Before 2017, it didn’t have themes.

World Arthritis Day focuses on the struggles of arthritis. They try to educate people about the problems and disadvantages of arthritis. The goal of this day is to make people understand that it can happen to anyone.

Each year, the purpose is to make people realize that their help can impact someone with arthritis significantly. It adds a lot of limitations to a person’s lifestyle, and that’s something others cant understand.
